Thanksgiving is upon us, and so begins the holiday season. Of course, this year is going to be a little different than season past, with fewer folks traveling for the holiday and making other adjustments to their annual celebrations.

If you’re looking for new Thanksgiving dinner options, be it a search for fresh, local ingredients or maybe someone else to do the cooking for you, below are a few options in our area that will give you plenty to be thankful for.

Need a bird to feed your family? Home Goods of Margaretville is offering pre-orders on turkeys. Contact them soon to reserve yours! And they also have pies, courtesy of Maggie at Magpies. She’s baking a Catskills maple pumpkin pie in an all butter crust, a caramel apple streusel pie in an all butter crust and a pecan pie with dark chocolate in a shortbread crust. Pre-order by 11/20 for pick-up on 11/25.

Now that you’ve got the main course and dessert covered, it’s time to round out your meal with a visit to the Pakatakan Farmers’ Market which has extended its season to run until November 28. The market has everything you need from hard cider to locally made cheeses. Open every Saturday from 10am – 1pm.

The farmers’ market will be open for the holidays on November 21st and December 19th from 10am – 1pm. But if you’re unable to make it out to the market, you can also order online!
