Introducing the NEW Andes Hotel!
When the COVID-19 pandemic struck New York State this March, The Andes Hotel shut its doors with no immediate plan to reopen. Locals and visitors alike sorely missed like this central meeting place in the heart of the village.
But good news has come to Andes. Andes resident Derek Curl has purchased and reopened the hotel and he and his staff are ready to serve you. The re-imagined hotel opened on October 2nd as an outdoor food and beer garden in the rear of the hotel, complete with tents and heat lamps.
“I’ve been in love with this place since the first time I ever visited the town, I am honored to be the next guardian of the great times at The Andes Hotel,” says Derek.
The hotel’s staff, made up of folks familiar to original hotel regulars and joined by new friendly faces, is now offering a fully revamped menu of tavern classics with specials and guest chefs visiting regularly.
With only two weekends of service under its belt, the menu thus far has received rave reviews with customers returning to enjoy everything from hamburgers, wings and the very popular fried chicken salad to the more exotic Wagu dog with optional crab and caviar and special waffle fries smothered in caviar, crème fraiche, shaved red onion, and dill.
Maple Pie and seasonal slices are being produced by Magpie on Pink Street in Bovina using maple made by Darview on Fall Clove in Andes. A wide selection of beer, wines and cocktails is also available.
The hotel plans to soon be offering indoor dining as well as some all-season outdoor dining. While reservations are not available right now, the team suggests they will be online soon. Strict safety protocols, social distancing and masks are required for all guests.
The current hours of operation are Wednesday – Friday 5-9pm, Sat 12-9pm, Sunday 12-8pm.
