Originally from Katonah, Westchester Co, NY, I had my first association with up-state NY while in the hospitality program at SUNY Delhi. In the intervening 45 years I have pursued a career both in the arts as a landscape painter and in real estate both as an investor and real estate broker. In the 1980's and 90's I was instrumental in rescuing and restoring a number of historic properties in the Hudson Vally including "Shadowlawn" a Gothic Revival estate designed by noted 19th century English/American Architect Calvert Vaux. This work was primarily in and around the City of Beacon NY where, in 1996, he received the Hudson River Caretaker Award from The Unites States Congress for his efforts there.
Moving my family to Cooperstown, NY in 1998 I set up a studio with my wife, portrait painter Susan Goetz, which I still maintain today. Most rencently I was an Associate Broker with Ashley Connor Realty in the village where my expertise continued to be historic properties. Over the first few years I was in Cooperstown I restored one of the village's earliest homes, dating to the late 18th century, on Lake and Pioneer Streets.
As trustee of Historic Hyde Hall, The Cook Foundation and the Otsego Land Trust I demonstrated my dedication to community by sharing my time and expertise whenever called upon. I am also the past president of the Van Wyck Council for the Arts in Beacon NY and a former trustee of the Garrison Art Center, Garrison on Hudson, NY. My paintings are exhibited and collected world wide, my work will be featured at the Fenimore Art Museum in this 2016 season.
Moving to Stamford, Delaware County, NY, my plans on combining my home and studio under on roof, This will be accomplished at a large Queen Anne home within the village. I plan on concentrating my real estate efforts in the Western Catskill region in addition to my ongoing efforts in the Cooperstown area.
